B"H This is Morah Moriah, and I teach Chumash, Navi and Tefila to elementary and middle school Jewish students. As a visual learner, I have developed a repertoire of products that serve as visual learning aids in the area of Hebrew and Torah study. You may find my products at Morah Moriah Mall. I also use visual techniques extensively to teach Chumash (The Five Books of the Torah) especially the intricate Bible Grammar rules aka Dikduk.
If you open up a popular Hebrew-English Bible and find a smooth flowing English translation, that's good. However, you will not find the skills to translate the Bible from Hebrew to English from the smooth flowing translation. There are Linear Bibles published out there from popular publishers as well. However, you will be disappointed too because you will not be able to find instructions on translating the beautiful words of the Torah in these Bibles. Smooth flowing translations make the verse easy to understand, however, most of the time there is no clear mapping between the translation and the written Hebrew text. You will also find that the translation is not always according to the rules of grammar.
At LinearChumash.com, you will find my work attempting to color-code the various parashiyos (portions) of the Torah to help students find their way in decoding the Torah. There are more than 100 videos and 90 workbooks in this website. I hope you will be able to utilize my materials. My Chumash Workbooks are completely digital and green (save the environment), and they are engineered to provide reusable, stimulating exercises for the student. I have received many positive remarks from students and teachers about these workbooks!
You may download many of my free Chumash workbooks right here too. I hope you will agree that they are worth a place in your digital library. You can support my work by becoming a member of the LinearChumash.com community and download my entire inventory, or you can purchase them separately at Morah Moriah Mall.
Do drop me a line and let me know how my work has positively affected your learning! I have received many positive notes from you and I hope you will keep writing. If you have any questions about the videos and workbooks and what we can offer you on this website, please contact us.
A Jew needs to recite Bircas HaTorah once a day before beginning to learn Torah. The blessings need not be repeated if one studies at various times of the day. You should be able to find the text for this blessing in your Siddur.
